Welcome
to our site Limousinfishing.com.
A warm welcome awaits you at La Vue, a spacious,
tastefully renovated gite in the beautiful Haute Vienne region of the
Limousin.
Situated in Tamisac, a traditional working hamlet
of Champagnac la Riviere, we offer comfortable, value for money accommodation
to holidaymakers, house hunters and fisher people. Being only a 25 minute
drive from Limoges Airport, with regular flights from many UK airports,
La Vue is the ideal place to come for a relaxing break or to use as
a base to explore the rest of the Limousin (Correze/Creuse) and its
surrounding areas. We are only a 20-minute drive from the Dordogne.
Our accommodation comprises two bedrooms, both
with en-suite facilities, ideal for a family of four or two couples;
large fully fitted kitchen/dining room and a spacious, comfortable lounge
with log burner. All in a fully enclosed garden. Combined with the exceptional
views of the rolling Limousin hills, a truly lovely gite.
The
buttons above give you more details about the gite, prices availability
and much, much more. Please take the time to read the comments from
our previous guests, taken from the visitor’s book. (VISITORS

La Vue really
is ‘the best of both worlds’; a peaceful setting overlooking
miles of open, stunning views yet we are only a fifteen minute stroll
from the village of Champagnac la Riviere where you will find a boulangerie
(for that delicious bread), post office, tennis courts and a superb
café/bar restaurant which also offers takeaways. Champagnac
la Riviere is situated on the Tardoire River and there is a lovely
picnic area to enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and it’s
wildlife.
A ten-minute
drive brings you to the towns of Chalus, Cussac and Oradour-sur-Vayres
where there are a choice of supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Further
a field are the larger cities of Limoges, world famous for it’s
porcelain and Perigeux, the capital of the Dordogne. They are forty
minutes and one hours drive, respectively. Please browse our ‘places
to visit’ page for more information and visit our ‘events’
page to see local fete venues and dates. A number of tourist information
brochures are available in the gite for your perusal.
Holidaymakers
to the region can visit the numerous lakes (some with beaches and
water sports); superb local markets with fresh produce, clothes and
giftware; historic towns and chateaux. For the more energetic the
area offers signposted walks, the roads are quiet enough to enjoy
cycling again, there are various equestrian centres for horse riding
and canoeing/kayaking on some rivers. Previous guests have remarked
on the amount of wildlife they have been able to see in its natural
habitat. (Buzzards, deer and otters, to name a few).

For
those of you wishing to visit the region to look for a new home, Margaret
and Keith who arrived here in 2007 will be happy to talk to you about
their experience of the procedure. If we can’t answer your questions,
we have a number of friends who came to France, in varying situations,
who may be able to help. There are a number of excellent immobliers
(estate agents) in the nearby towns who are more than happy to help
you find your French dream.
Visiting
anglers can be provided with maps or SatNav to guide them to various
fishing venues (click here for venues,
all local information and details of permits etc.)
There are many local fisheries with superb fishing. Equally, rivers
holding carp, pike, perch, zander and other species are not far away.
We offer our guests the option of fishing tackle hire, both fly and
coarse, for a nominal weekly or daily fee.
Fly-casting tuition can be arranged with our very good friend, Tony
Scott. Tony is one of the few STANIC qualified fly casting instructors
in France. Tony and his wife, Sue, are planning to open their new
gite next year. If you find that we are booked for the dates you require,
please take a look at Le
Petit Verger,
La Vue is attached to the barn conversion where
Margaret and Keith live, so guests can be assured that they will be
available if required.
Thank you for your interest and maybe we will
see you soon.
